What we handle

SFI actions and grant windows

An agreement is three years long and the actions you take in the first month set what you can stack onto it later. Most of the work is deciding which ones fit the ground you already farm.

The ones we put on most holdings

ActionRateWhere it fits
Assess soil and produce a plan£6 / ha + £97Nearly every holding. It is the cheapest way to open an agreement and it unlocks the rest.
Integrated pest management plan£1,129 / yearArable and mixed. A flat payment, not per hectare, so it is worth proportionally more on a small acreage.
Nutrient management review£652 / yearAnywhere you already take soil samples. Often the paperwork exists and nobody claimed for it.
Pollen and nectar flower mix£614 / haAwkward corners and headlands that yield badly anyway.
Winter bird food on arable£853 / haSame logic. The two together usually beat what the corner was growing.
Grassy field corners and blocks£590 / haLivestock farms. Takes the bits the sprayer cannot reach out of production properly.
Assess and record hedgerows£5 / 100mHedge-heavy Marches holdings. Ours average four hundred pounds a year from this alone.
Manage hedgerows£13 / 100mStacks on top of the assessment. Cutting on a rotation you probably use already.

Rates as published when this page was written. They are reviewed, so we confirm the current figure against your parcels on the call rather than ask you to trust a website.

How an application actually goes

01

We pull your parcels

From the land registry view and your own maps. Anything that has changed since the last mapping exercise gets flagged now, not after a rejection.

02

We match actions to ground

Field by field, including the corners you would not have thought to claim. This is where the two or three missed actions usually turn up.

03

You read it before it goes

The whole thing comes back to you as a list in plain English. Nothing is submitted until you have said yes to each line.

04

We handle the follow-up

The questions that come back afterwards are included. You do not get a second invoice for answering the RPA.

£390 One application, start to finish

Mapping, the submission itself and the follow-up questions. If we look at your ground and conclude there is nothing worth claiming, we say so and there is no fee — that happens perhaps twice a year.

Before you ring

The first call costs nothing and takes about fifteen minutes. If the job is really one for your accountant or your land agent, we will say so and point you at the right door.
